At the Senate Homeland Security hearing on the Colonial Pipeline hack today, Colonial's CEO just admitted to @HawleyMO that almost all of the employees who know how to manually operate the company's pipelines are either retired or dead, and newer employees don't know how.

Colonial and its CEO will be copping flak for this admission but I imagine that everything is like this now. Everything, from the boardroom to the receptionist’s desk, is in control of people who wouldn’t know a torque wrench if it landed on them. Quite why everything has to be on the interwebs, and therefore at the mercy of anyone smarter than your security people, is a mystery to me.
