Politics schmolitics
I was walking through the village this morning when a voice behind me said something. I turned around and a boy of about 6 or 7 was standing there, bold as brass. He has Downs syndrome and is wearing a Reading FC shirt. He spoke again: “It’s the FA Cup Final today.” I know, I said, and asked him if he’s going to watch it. “Yes, I’m going to watch it.” Then I asked him who he wants to win. He clenched his little fist and said “United.” Then his sister came over and told him to get indoors. He won’t be happy now. Chelsea are one up at half-time.
Anyway, I thought I’d seen that pastor before …

That’s….Jude!!
😂
“any lepers in the house”.
None.
Obviously none of them are smokers then?.
😏
And that’s how it finished. Blue is the colour!
Utd really were rubbish. All the ball and no idea what to do with it. It makes you wonder what they practice in training.
Pete
Mourinho was out-negatived by Conte, and it serves him right. What about Conte for Arsenal?
Peter –
I had those thoughts. Despite his troubles at Chelsea this year (and I still have no idea what that’s about), Conte is a first class coach. I’d also have taken Ancelotti or Allegri. I like Italian coaches. Italy appreciates coaching and the Italian FA’s coaching courses are tough and renowned. If I were a retiring player looking to qualify as a coach, I’d go to Italy.
That’s exactly what this Arsenal squad needs, coaching and improving the players. It’s not about managing. We won’t have a manager going forward. That job no longer exists at the club, all the manager functions decentralised to others. Arsenal will appoint someone (it looks like Arteta) who will only coach the players.
In the end I’m just glad we’re getting a new coach, however it goes. I feel like I’ve watched 1000 episodes of the same show. Now someone has picked up the remote and is about to change the channel. We might land on Made in Essex (whatever it’s called) or Geordie Shore, but sod it I’m up for changing the channel.
Yes Pete, he won the Premier League last year and the FA Cup this year and he has a year left on his contract. If Chelski had any sense they would offer him a new contract and a transfer budget of £100 million. But they don’t and they won’t.
Abramovich can’t help but go through coaches. The Chelsea squad virtually went on strike to get Mourinho the sack in his second stint. I wonder if some of the players have been doing the same with Conte.
The sensible thing would be to back Conte and let him sell who he likes. But this is football, so he might be out on Monday.
No Pete, they will wait until after the victory bus parade down the Fulham Road. Then they will sack him. And the day after that they will announce the new manager who has probably been lined up for months.

That video which Pete linked would not be allowed today for it mocks that which cannot be mocked. Those associated with the production of such a splendidly satirical piece would be prosecuted and jailed.
And yet it’s still strangely available on Youtube.
Utter bollocks
Paul – the sketch would not have been commissioned by ‘mainstream’ TV any more than this……..
You seem to have no idea of how bad things are becoming for ordinary people:

You said it ‘wouldn’t be allowed’ today yet it clearly is allowed on YouTube.
Faux victimhood rubbish.
Paul –
It’s not Youtube, The BBC commissioned Little Britain. There is no way – no way – that it would be commissioned now. The first series was commissioned only 15 years ago, but there’s no way it would happen now.
This sketch was funny too –
Pete, Little Britain was bloody awful.
The sketch couldn’t be so controversial if it’s allowed on the allegedly heavily censored YouTube.
Youtube censors conservative opinion Paul, not comedy.
