Because Friday night is Music Night.
The occasional feeling I get that the planet is moving in a different direction from me came back again today. It happened when I saw a Telegraph piece on the question: is the band ‘One Direction’ bigger than The Beatles? To which I thought, who the what is ‘One Direction’? I’ve never heard of’em, but apparently they’re enormous. I must be even further removed from pop culture than I thought. Never mind, I can live with that.
I’ll have to take solace in liking music by bald men with large beards who wield flutes. I bet One Direction can’t write tunes like this –
