I’m NOT impressed to read that Islamic preacher Abu Qatada, a man dubbed "Osama bin Laden’s right-hand man in Europe" has won an appeal against deportation from the UK which could lead to him being freed. The Court of Appeal said it was concerned that evidence allegedly obtained under torture may form part of a future trial in Jordan. The Jordanian national has been fighting extradition to his home country where he has been convicted for terror attacks. He entered the UK illegally but no one seems too bothered about that. Abu Qatada became one of the UK’s most wanted men in December 2001 when he went on the run on the eve of government moves to introduce new anti-terror laws allowing suspects to be detained without charge or trial. When questioned in the UK in February 2001, Abu Qatada was in possession of £170,000 cash, including £805 in an envelope labelled "For the Mujahedin in Chechnya". He was not charged, naturally. I think this a disgraceful decision by the judiciary and I could not care less what fate awaits Abu Qatata in Jordan. His continued presence in the UK is a real and present danger to British people. Get him to Jordan straightaway!
