There’s much wisdom we can take on board from the American Civil War leaders.
One I particularly endorse was Robert E Lee.
It is well that war is so terrible, otherwise we should grow too fond of it.
I think that this ought to be a quote but I cannot find who if anyone said it. “Once war has begun then let it be prosecuted to its fullest extent. ” I’m claiming that one.
His fellow Generals were so pissed at Lee for taking up with the Confederacy that they started planting the war dead in his front yard…. that yard became Arlington Cemetery.
