The green lobby loves the idea that we PAY more tax. And true to form…

Families will be paying almost £300 a year in green energy taxes by 2020. The levy will more than double until a quarter of every pound spent on electricity goes on wind, solar, nuclear or home insulation schemes. Energy Secretary Ed Davey insisted last night that households will be better off thanks to the benefits of electricity-saving initiatives.

Sure. Wonder how Davey managed to keep a straight face when he claimed that nonsense?  “Green energy” extortion is a central plank in the government plan to raid our cash. Because it is wrapped up in the facade of virtue, these iniquitous taxes have gone by seemingly un-noticed but the fact is they will make us ALL a lot poorer.

  1. Depending on foreigners for energy supplies is stupid, if not traitrous. Self-sufficiency should be the target of any UK government, and that means a large wind farm element. There is no prospect of nuclear providing more that 20% within the next 20 years.
