and the Love Fest goes on, and on, and on; ad-bloody-infinitum

The Guardian……….Johannesburg Funeral preparations, leaders unite…..Muslim vigilantes,,,,,,,,,,,,Mandela………

The Telegraph………….Mandela, Mandela……………………….

BBC Today, and the twin mourners-in-chief, John Humphrys and Evan Davis:-

Evan Davis…………”The World Trade Organisation has just completed a deal freeing global trade from red tape: and now back to Nelson Mandela”

John Humphries……….The super storm which been blasting Scotland and the East coast has now passed; homes have been destroyed and fields flooded; but I remember, after Mandela was freed, the first elections…….”

At that point, I switched off the radio, remembered the superb concert which I had attended and enjoyed so much yesterday evening; and got on with my life.

  1. But you can’t really get on with the fact that freedom triumphed and the apartheid regime failed.

  2. Ye Gods, what is it’s going to be like when the funeral actually takes place, as I said before, Mandela is like Obi-wan-Kenobi, he is more of a pain in the arse now he is dead than when he was alive.

  3. ‘At that point, I switched off the radio’ logged into ATW and posted the 6th Nelson Mandella thread since he died. Almost Thatcheresque.
