The President is about to sign an Omnibus bill that doesn’t fund the Wall, gives funding to Sanctuary cities, Planned Parenthood, and doubles EVERY Democrat Program… I have one question for

  1. Give and take Pat, something for everyone, no-one gets their whole sopping List
The Alt is a gov’t shutdown. I guess your being facetious but its not about balls its about brains too. They’re under your skull, should be anyway 🙂

  2. A government shut down hurts no one Jude.

as I’m in a generous mood Pat I’m gonna say you wrote that without thinking

1)This means that much of the government workforce is placed on an unpaid leave of absence, known as a furlough, and told not to work.

2)But there is a risk that the troops may not be paid during a shutdown, while many civilian employees at the Department of Defense employees will not work.

do they not count? their lives ? their families ?

  3. I can’t imagine that anyone at this point would think that Trump has a concern for consistency on any issue. In a sense he is more of the Joker than the comic character.

  4. Jude as usual you have no idea what you are talking about…..

Mahons I have a concern for consistency. And unlike you and the other NYrs when the President that I support does something wrong like not throwing this Bill back into the GOPs face I will criticize him.

  5. errr, Mr.Pat
    where’s your glasses?
you said a gov’t shutdown hurts no-one, i showed 2 examples where it does.
Which of those two didn’t you like ?

  6. Why should Congress fund the wall

Your Trump said that Mexico would pay for it, and you believed it.

Trump is so rich why doesn’t he pay for it himself. He could build it in six months I am sure, with Trump hotels every fifty miles to help pay for it.

  7. Phantom,

Trump is so rich why doesn’t he pay for it himself. He could build it in six months I am sure, with Trump hotels every fifty miles to help pay for it.

Good idea. He could get the Mexicans caught trying to scale the wall to work in his hotels. Cheap labour!

  8. Good idea. He could get the Mexicans caught trying to scale the wall to work in his hotels. Cheap labour!

    And they would have jobs!

    It’s a win-win.

  9. Your Trump said that Mexico would pay for it, and you believed it.

No-one with an IQ only slightly higher than a cabbage, actually trusts, or believes one single word that any politician says.

  10. No, he is ” honest ” Donald Trump and he will drain the swamp

It must be true because Sean Hannitty said so

  11. Phantom.

    No politicians are honest.

Being a pathological liar, is a prerequisite for the job.

  12. Being a pathological liar, is a prerequisite for the job.

Then Trump really is the best president ever. Whenever he speaks, there is a Niagara Falls of lies

  13. If being a serial pathological liar was the only essential trait to becoming the next POTUS, then Hilary should have walked it.

  14. I will disagree there.

She is a sneak and a grifter but she is Honest Abe when compared to Trump.

At least she didn’t accuse Ted Cruz’s father of killing JFK ( a charge which Trump ally Alex Jones still refers to ) or of Obama being the founder of ISIS.

This is such rank imbecility and dishonesty, yet the Cult still licks his boots.

  15. 1)This means that much of the government workforce is placed on an unpaid leave of absence, known as a furlough, and told not to work.

2)But there is a risk that the troops may not be paid during a shutdown, while many civilian employees at the Department of Defense employees will not work.

    1) no very little of the government is put on leave and they get paid EVERY DIME they get a paid vacation….. so you really have no clue.

    2) Troops get paid once a month, the first week of the month. The majority of the military get free food and free housing and they get their pay no matter what even if it’s delayed a week it causes very few problems.

Jude you chuck out pure leftis spin… in other words BULL!

  16. She is a sneak and a grifter but she is Honest Abe when compared to Trump.

the words of someone who has totally lost touch with reality.

  17. DO NOT PANIC, minions. The Democrats can smell your unwarranted fear. The Trumpmeister will come through.

  18. Haven’t heard any bragging about the stock market from the usual suspects lately.

    Wonder why that is.

  19. Just now:

The US plans to impose $50bn in tariffs on Chinese goods and limit the country’s investment activity in the US as payback for what it alleges is years of unfair intellectual property theft […]

China said it was ready to retaliate with “necessary measures”.

    http://www.bbc.com/news/business-43494001

    Let the trade war commence!!

  20. Maybe Americans should use their guns , and oust the corrupt gov’t
isn’t that part of the 2nd Amemdments intention.
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

  21. The US absolutely SHOULD respond to predatory practices by the Chinese government in the area of intellectual property, forced technology transfer, forced taking of Chinese partners in order to do business there, many other types of bad acts.

The EU / Canada are fair partners to the US in matters of trade, China is not.

  22. its insane , as if we haven’t reached insanity already.
lesson 1 in life, trust your lawyer like your doctor he’s one of the few who is always on your side ..

  23. Trump can’t be a good leader for many reasons, first among them that he is so impulsive. All his life he has acted on whim. Making gigantic bets on Atlantic City, meeting with Kim Jong Un, same thing.

He doesn’t read, he doesn’t listen to anyone. Government by changeable whim.

As in ALL war we win the battles.

Patrick, I bet my last bottom dollar you will lose the battle against political correctness.

Political correctness is sweeping all up in its path.

  25. Political correctness is sweeping all up in its path.

In the US, it is in government, the universities, and it is absolutely in the big corporations.

We may be behind Europe in this , but not by much.

  26. Phantom.

Once again, very true, here in Europe, we are well advanced sadly and very unfortunately in the dark art of political correctness. It is designed to destroy freedom of speech, and that is exactly what is happening.

  27. Patrick Van Roy, on March 22nd, 2018 at 4:53 PM Said:
I lost the PC war….. long ago

That’s what I said Patrick. No matter how armed to the teeth you maybe, you do not stand a hope in hell’s chance against political correctness.

  28. Patrick.

I think you will find, political correctness will screw you first.

But, I entirely agree with your sentiments.

  29. PC is a bullshit tool of the commie left…. to intimidate and control…. I refuse to participate.

  30. Harri look at this post…… is it PC to ask someone if their balls fall off….. ?

  31. Patrick.

Actually, you sort of caused me to be late for a lab meeting this morning, I was “busy” engrossed watching movie clips of the Joker.

    😏

  32. It certainly is

The old campy Batman TV shows IMO were more enjoyable than the dark movies.

  33. Phantom,

The old campy Batman TV shows IMO were more enjoyable than the dark movies.

I agree. But perhaps we’re just getting old. 😁

  34. Dave.

You seem to be a whizz on movies, you don’t seriously believe the old Batman characters were as good as the modern day types?.

  35. Heath Ledger was absolutely superb.

My wife and girls are avid fans of “Gotham”, I do look up now and then, but not so much of a fan.

  36. Yes, build up the military industrial complex, and have trade war, as the markets plunge.

    Excellent performance.

  37. Julie Newmar

    Wow!

This is bringing back memories of our first colour TV!.

I think, if I recall correctly, we had to feed coins in a slot meter to watch it?.

    😏

Bloody hellski, I feel old. 😑

  38. The campy tongue in cheek Adam West Batman was exellence personfoed.

Actually Paul, that is a very good point, looking back from today to then, Adam West was just a tad camp, as you say.

I don’t think “ka-pow” or “Holy (whatever) Robin” would quite cut it to today’s youth.

  39. Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the clouds of war, it is humanity hanging on a cross of iron.

    Dwight Eisenhower, that commie

  40. Talking of slavery.

We are all tax slaves anyway.

Is not paying for even more military complexes ensuring we remain tax slaves to the state to pay for it all?.

  41. Julie Newmar

    Wow!

I just had a dream about Julie Newmar. The rest would be TMI!

Us slaves pay for it all.

If our government’s spent as much of our cash, and half the effort finding ways to cure people, instead of “new & exciting” efficient methods of killing them.

The world might just be a better place.

  43. Dwight Eisenhower, that commie

On the contrary, Eisenhower was simply elucidating the old point that you cannot spend the same unit of money on both guns and butter. It’s one or the other.

It’s you socialists who promise guns and butter.

  44. I don’t think “ka-pow” or “Holy (whatever) Robin” would quite cut it to today’s youth

Agreed. We live in times of instant gratification with the world literally at people’s fingertips and I doubt ‘holy catfood Batman’ would be seen as the humorous tongue in cheekedness it was meant as today.

  45. I just had a dream about Julie Newmar. The rest would be TMI!

Suicide Squad, Margot Robbie, Harley Quinn.

  46. Military complex.

Uncle Sam alone has enough military hardware to destroy the entire planet earth, and the who!e of humanity, five times over.

How much more do you “need”?.

  47. The TV Batman if done today would be different, but I don’t know how different. All authority figures apart from the caped crusader himself were shown as clowns and idiots of one kind or another, and that kind of thing is always popular.

We need a robust miliary but a smart military. We spend too much, we waste too much, we give to much to ungrateful foreigners such as Crooked Bibi.

  48. Harri,

You seem to be a whizz on movies, you don’t seriously believe the old Batman characters were as good as the modern day types?.

I’m not a Whizz on movies mate. I actually don’t watch that many Hollywood blockbusters. I sure many of the modern batman movies are great, but the point Phantom and myself were making is that the old ones seemed more entertaining. Possibly rose tinted specs have something to consign it. 😁

  49. The old Batman TV show was great for it’s time and it really had some big stars on it at times.

Burgess Meredith, Julie Newmar, Frank Gorshin, Vincent Price, Eartha Kit, Milton Berle, etc etc

Batman himself Adam West just passed and he was doing himself great with cartoon voices right upto the end, but that show was FUN… camp

The Christian Bale Movies so far have been the best.

Batman is very dark and the true American Symbol.

  50. The TV show ran from 1966-1968, a tough era. After the JFK assassination, with race riots in the cities, the Vietnam war rapidly getting much worse.

It was pure absurd nonsense for 30 minutes a week, and maybe we needed that.

    More information for the files

The Riddler was just a minor and forgettable villain in the comics. This series is responsible for turning him into one of the most popular villains in Batman’s rogues gallery.

Cesar Romero’s Joker laugh was created almost by accident. Shortly after being cast, Romero met with producers to discuss his role on his series. While waiting to meet with them, Romero happened to see conceptual art of Joker’s costuming. Romero felt the pictures almost looked absurd, and as a result spontaneously broke out into a playfully loud and almost manic laughter. A producer overhearing it responded by telling Romero “That’s it, that’s your Joker’s laugh!”

Burgess Meredith had not smoked in twenty years when he was cast as the Penguin. He came up with the Penguin’s distinctive squawking sound because the cigarettes were irritating his throat. Like his trademark “quack”, the Penguin’s waddling was largely a result of improvisation by Burgess Meredith, as he found it difficult to stand and walk straight while wearing the rubber padded fat suit that was part of his costuming.

Before going on the air, this show received the worst audience test scores in the history of ABC. It only went on the air because so much money had already been invested in it.

In all of the scenes of the villains’ hideouts, the camera filmed at an angle or “crooked”. This shot is known as an “oblique” or “dutch” angle. This was because all the villains were also crooked, and it gave a sense of something being wrong in the scene/shot.

Shortly after the series began to air in England, several children were hurt while “flying” out of windows trying to emulate Batman. An announcement by Adam West in the role of Batman was filmed to discourage children from the practice, and made it clear he himself could not “fly”.

According to Adam West, because of the show’s popularity, he was offered the role of James Bond for On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969). He declined because he felt the role should go to a British actor. Ironically, the role wound up going to Australian actor George Lazenby.

  51. The spending bill was created by Democratic and Republican Senators and Congressmen. They ignored Trump and got on with it. It is too serious a matter to include a ranting moron. The bill includes some good things and some not so good things, similar to previous spending bills. When Congress ignores Trump it can accomplish some sane things, and I think there will be more ignoring him as he is dragged to the scaffold.

  52. This Bill is trash, but it should make you and the rest of these clowns happy because it probably just cost the Republicans both the House and the Senate.

  53. Trump could absolutely veto the bill.

But then we would be back at square one, and there would be a government shutdown.

  54. If he vetoed it would there be any chance that the houses could increase the yeah votes to override his veto ?

  55. Colm, I applaud your knowledge of our Constitution regarding the veto override!

  56. Thank you Charles. Am I right that the veto requires two thirds of senators and congress members to vote for a bill and does it happen very often ?

  57. If the thing is vetoed, don’t assume that Plan B will happen quickly, or that it will be any better.

  58. ” Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good ”

Government is the art of compromise.

Its not a dirty word in the American system.

  59. yeah but this Bill is disgusting…..

but hey we are about to get back into the war shooting…… we need to resupply BUT

I think he could have gotten the 700 Billion without giving up the ghost.

  60. Without a line item veto, there’s really not much a President can do that’s realistic.
