I don’t ask for much But she signed something She could go to prison. OMG Nice eyebrows six seconds in What did you guys do today, do something crazy to it? I wonder how much weight the uncorroborated oral testimony of what such an impartial, neutral witness allegedly saw carries? This is Exhibit A of how junk moves around in the right wing blogosphere. I don’t think that Patrick has any idea who these people are or what state it happened in. Yet he shares it, and we’re supposed to get all outraged about ” voter fraud ” based on a bag of thin air like this. Was she drunk or is she mentally ill? Phantom, This clip is being shared over here on twitter for people to laugh at her. Which, if she is unwell, is poor form She’s probably one of those poor folk that go on reality TV shows to make a fool of themselves and get a bit of cash and a free meal. “She’s probably one of those poor folk that go on reality TV shows to make a fool of themselves and get a bit of cash and a free meal.” Isn’t that how Katie Hopkins got her start. Indeed Fews, imagine reality TV stardom being the basis for serious political thought and commentary. Oh, wait….. Weeks after Melissa Carone was tapped by the Trump campaign as a star witness in Michigan, little appeared to be going as planned with the contract IT worker’s testimony — an unverified series of claims about ballot fraud at Detroit’s vote-counting center. In interviews with conservative-leaning media, last month, her offbeat tale suggesting ballots were being smuggled inside food vans seemed to baffle even Fox Business host Lou Dobbs. Two days later, a Wayne County judge ruled that her allegations “simply are not credible.” Yet, there she was in front of a Michigan House panel on Wednesday, dressing down a Republican lawmaker as she loudly insisted, without proof, that tens of thousands of votes had been counted twice. At one point, she was audibly shushed by Trump campaign attorney Rudolph W. Giuliani. “I know what I saw,” Carone told state Rep. Steven Johnson (R), raising her eyebrows sharply as some laughs could be heard from the chamber. “And I signed something saying if I’m wrong, I can go to prison. Did you?” On social media, her pointed declarations, Midwestern lilt and poofy, blond updo drew comparisons to “Saturday Night Live” characters played by Victoria Jackson and Cecily Strong. By early on Thursday, one clip of her exchange with Johnson had been viewed about 9 million times. For many following along, the viral clips of Carone appear to sum up the last-ditch legal efforts by the Trump campaign to challenge the vote in swing states won by President-elect Joe Biden. As the campaign’s lawsuits have been repeatedly tossed out in court, Giuliani has instead urged Republican legislators to embrace his unverified claims of fraud and halt their states’ vote certifications. The key witness in that campaign? A woman whose baseless claims about illegal ballots even made Giuliani reportedly point out that he had only just met her this week. Carone, Giuliani and the Trump campaign all did not immediately respond to requests for comment from The Washington Post late on Wednesday night. Election officials warn Trump’s escalating attacks on voting are putting their staffs at risk A contractor for Dominion Voting Systems, which supplies voting technology for election jurisdictions nationwide, Carone stumbled into the national spotlight last month as one of a handful of “extraordinary witnesses” cited by Giuliani to support the Trump campaign’s unverified claims of a “stolen election.” On Election Day, Carone said she worked a nonstop, 24-hour shift at Detroit’s vote-counting operation at TCF Center, tasked with IT support for Dominion’s machines. In an affidavit filed on Nov. 10, she claimed seeing some ballots being illegally scanned multiple times and suggested that vans meant to bring in meals for elections workers were hiding tens of thousands of ballots instead. Carone’s affidavit was included in a lawsuit filed by the Trump campaign seeking to halt the certification of election results in Wayne County, a liberal, vote-rich area where Biden racked up much of his support. Wayne County Circuit Judge Timothy Kenny denied that request on Nov. 13, saying Carone’s and other witnesses’s “interpretation of events is incorrect and not credible.” What you need to know about Dominion, the company that Trump and his lawyers baselessly claim ‘stole’ the election Nearly a month later, she continued making the same allegations in separate testimonies this week before the Michigan House and Michigan Senate Oversight Committees. “Everything that happened at that TCF Center was fraud,” she declared on Tuesday. “Every single thing.” During her exchange with Johnson the following day, the GOP state lawmaker questioned her claim that 30,000 votes were counted multiple times but were not reflected in the poll book, a record of how many ballots were cast. “We’re not seeing the poll book off by 30,000 votes,” he said. “What’d you guys do, take it and do something crazy to it?” Carone fired back, before telling him there were “zero registered voters” in Wayne County’s poll book and that the turnout rate had been “120 percent.” (Biden won Michigan by more than 154,000 votes.) When another representative suggested she should be “under oath” during her testimony, Carone got personal. “I am a mother, I have two children, I have two degrees,” Carone said in a clip that was shared on Twitter Wednesday by President Trump. “I don’t know any woman in the world that would write an affidavit under oath just to write it. You can go to prison for this.” Asked later why more people did not come forward with allegations of fraud, she claimed that Trump’s critics had ruined the lives and reputations of witnesses like her. She added that she lost family and friends, received threats, had to move, change her phone number and take down her social media accounts. (A Facebook account with the name “Mellissa Carone,” which promoted her media appearances in November and repeatedly expressed support for Trump, still appears visible on the social media website.) “My life has been completely destroyed because of this,” she said. But on social media, her allegations seemed to be drawing far more attention for what they said about the Trump campaign. “Imagine lining up your witnesses,” one person wrote on Twitter, “and this is the best you got.” questions on her sanity and sobriety are rampant https://www.vice.com/en/article/v7m7dm/team-trumps-latest-witness-is-an-absolute-trainwreck?utm_source=reddit.com Shameful that stuff like this is passed around. This is what garbage sites like Gateway Pundit and Conservative Treehouse do every day of the week And those who gorge from sites like that never question a thing. //“Imagine lining up your witnesses,” one person wrote on Twitter, “and this is the best you got.”// Yes, this kind of performance makes you feel almost sympathetic for the Trump-Guiliani farce. They must be really desperate if they bring in people like this lady and, as that handsome fellow said in Gone with the Wind, a lost cause is an attractive cause. Actually Guiliani in general looks completely desperate these days; it really looks like he’s fighting for his life. A sacrificial lamb to the Gods of electoral fraud conspiracy. A nobody who is collateral damage to the Guilli Brigade’s ‘the end justifies the means’ campaign. At some level, Rudy knows that he has harmed his ( substantial ) legacy greatly with all of this. It is terrible to see him carrying on like this. Trump never had a reputation to lose, but Rudy did. At some level, Rudy knows that he has harmed his ( substantial ) legacy greatly with all of this. Anyone following the #sexytrumpgirl hashtag on Parler, a social media site increasingly popular with conservatives, got an eyeful one recent Thursday evening as images of topless women and links to hardcore pornography websites appeared at a rapid-fire rate, often more than one per minute. The surge of #sexytrumpgirl posts highlighted a broader dilemma for Parler: The site’s lax moderation policies, in keeping with its claims to being a bastion of free speech, could make it a magnet for pornographers, escort services and online sex merchants using hashtags targeting conservatives, such as #keepamericasexy and #milfsfortrump2020. The pornography threatens to intrude on users not seeking sexual material and has the potential to complicate hopes the site may have to expand advertising, which is now limited. Experts on the impact of pornography say major companies typically avoid having their sales pitches appear alongside controversial imagery. WP Karma’s gonna get you unlike you Phantom I know the state, who the legislature is, who the woman is and the fraud she’s talking about the fact that you an American don’t know, nor are capable of figuring it out, only goes to show how well informed you are….. which is Laughable. This GARBAGE is Evidence, Eyewitness testimony that as she says “I signed a paper saying I’d go to JAIL if it isn’t TRUE,,,, did YOU!” pat just stick your fingers in your ears and begin screaming “I can’t hear you!”. you can’t form a cogent argument in favour of your little conspiracy so you might as well pretend it isn’t real This GARBAGE is Evidence, Eyewitness testimony that as she says “I signed a paper saying I’d go to JAIL if it isn’t TRUE,,,, did YOU!” Pat, how do you disprove uncorroborated oral testimony to a perjurious level? Carone’s affidavit was included in a lawsuit filed by the Trump campaign seeking to halt the certification of election results in Wayne County, a liberal, vote-rich area where Biden racked up much of his support. Wayne County Circuit Judge Timothy Kenny denied that request on Nov. 13, saying Carone’s and other witnesses’s “interpretation of events is incorrect and not credible.” And why is she asking a GOP state lawmaker if he signed something? My goodness, Patrick – or is it now PatriQ? I haven’t looked in here for a few weeks but it’s looking more unhinged than usual. Her “eyewitness” testimony is evidence, but that doesn’t make it good evidence. She is just making wild claims about what she saw, and her claims are not consistent with other evidence. So that makes it not very compelling. is it now PatriQ? Ouch. Allan has met his match here. Yes eyewitness Testimony given under oath, before a Legislative hearing is conspiracy to NYC Drone. This clip is being shared over here on twitter for people to laugh at her. Which, if she is unwell, is poor form OMG!! I just googled the name and saw the full video. Even Rudi roots tries to dissuade her from speaking further. Yes eyewitness Testimony given under oath, before a Legislative hearing is conspiracy to NYC Drone. Surely you mean eyewitness testimony given under oath and deemed ‘simply not credible’ by a County Judge? The apple not falling far from the tree? Oh dear: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-55177966 The responses sound so apple tree too. Drain the swamp!! The thief learned from the master. Wow! This puts the whole charade into perspective. Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel: 1) No testimony under oath. 2) No foundation laid for expertise or knowledge. 3) Only 1 party permitted to call witnesses. 4) No cross examination allowed. This hearing is a state sponsored disinformation campaign geared toward undermining our electoral system. The apple not falling far from the tree? She didn’t lick it from the stones 🙂 Comments are closed.
