The pernicious EU has given Britain two months to scrap policies preventing benefit tourists claiming billions of pounds in handouts.

Last night the European Commission said it would take the Government to court unless it draws up plans to axe restrictions on claims by immigrants, saying they are against the law and must be scrapped.

Brussels bureaucrats acted after receiving a complaint that the rules infringed the “human rights” of EU citizens.

Gosh, what a great idea. Let’s ensure we channel a few more Billion the way of those who come into our country in search of the lovely Welfare. All those cheery Bulgarians, Romanians and other various assorted EU immigrants must be given cash straightaway if we are not to incur the wrath  of the Eurocrats. I guess I’ll have to work a little bit longer, pay a little more in taxation in order to facilitate the financial requirements of immigrants. Then again, the UK political class could exercise some degree of courage and tell them where to go, with the provisor that should they take any legal action, we would start the process of leaving the EU. That might give them something to think about.
