  1. HA HA HA HA HA

The well of American schmaltz is as deep as self-awareness is shallow.

Toby Keith singing in front of an F-16! It’s so bad you almost want to cheer on the Russkies.

  2. Very fitting from the man who decreed my Iraq vet cousins as ‘not real Americans’ because they disagreed with the invasion.

  3. Troll, and you being a Holy man.

I thought in Gods eyes all men are equal?

    Make your mind up.

Have those two in the pic taken advantage of the new gay marriage laws?

    LOL

    Very good Noel 🙂

  5. Because Memorial Day has turned into a weekend to celebrate the beginning of summer….remember at 3pm, a minute of silence is requested to remember the war dead. I know who I’ll be thinking of…

  6. They shall grow not old as we who are left grow old , age shall not weary them or the years condemn . At the going down of the Sun and in the Morning we will remember them .
Dedicated to those who made the final sacrifice no matter their nationality .

  7. You’ll pardon me if I fail to honor the einsatzgruppen soldiers who may have gotten a bullet in the temple before they got to herd up more civilians

  8. Phantom,

I thought the prime rule of any member, friend or foe, of an official military, was ‘to obey orders’, irrespective of personal feelings, i.e. ‘kill or be killed, refuse and you will die anyway!’. – and as I am sure that has always been universally understood, it does make all those accusations of ‘war crimes’ seem rather hypocritical, wouldn’t you say? But then war is a very nasty business… and from my experience, no-one ends up a winner.

  9. …guns ‘n roses; motherhood and apple pie…
If it wasn’t so cloying it would be a parody.
Gawd, I hate your sort of ersatz, junk sentimentality Troll.

  10. Ernest

One of the things they teach in the US military these days is that there is such a thing as an ” illegal order ” that soldiers must never obey.

The German soldier who did this was a murderer when he killed the defenseless mother and child, he was nothing else.

I do not honor him on this or any other day.

  11. Phantom –

I’m pretty sure that the Field Manual still states that members of the US armed forces are obliged to obey “only lawful orders”.

  12. Phantom,

I totally agree with your comment – especially re the sort of war depicted in your link.

Of course modern global warfare leaves no room for any discretion as to who dies, drop a bomb from a mile in the sky, or fire a rocket from across a countries borders and hope for the best, no chance to pick and choose. All are victims.

Of course terrorism and market place explosions are a different matter where such civilians as in your photo are deliberately targeted. The perps responsible for that sort of warfare get free passes and end up in government, – even get to shake the hand of royalty. Now that’s what I call hypocrisy…and utterly despicable.

Indeed Ernest just ask Charlie’s regiment about the innocent civilians they deliberately targeted in Ballymurphy in 1971:

    Or perhaps that’s different?
