As to the Corporation Tax rate, it may be that Sammy has finally got the message that the 12.5% rate is just one of a plethora of items that make the Republic of Ireland a “tax haven” comparable to Bermuda. Billions of profits are laundered routed through the Dublin “financial zone” by brass-plate companies which employ no-one in Ireland, and the tax rate is irrelevant to them because of the other “concessions” which exist nowhere else in the EU.
