About the good things.

I’m sitting on the front porch with my youngest watching the motorcycles go by, the first Sunday of every month the VFW has a biker breakfast. We get a couple of hundred motorcycle enthusiasts come through right down the street in front of the house. (forget sleeping late) I put my bike on the front lawn for sale. It’s a nice 95 883 Hugger, a pearl blue Harley that I hate to part with, but it’s time.

As I sit here watching the bikes go by, and my flag flapping in the wind I count my blessings. With a Marxist in the White House and the enemy at the gates we forget sometimes who we are. It’s days like this that remind me. I live in the greatest place on earth.

America blessed by God, home of the free and the brave. That pretty much say’s it all.

  1. I know the feeling Troll! The freedom of the road, and the knowledge you can go where you want, is the last real freedom left.

(Back here in the UK we get the same frisson when a gay parade goes by).

  2. >>I live in the greatest place on earth<<

Nice sentiments, Troll, but I have to correct you: America isn’t the greatest place on earth; Ireland is.
(Although I concede, America is probably second).

Not only do we also have all those roads, but you can apparently do what you want on them.

  3. Troll. Can you beat this traveler… on your Harley?:

I was totin’ my pack along the long dusty Winnemucca road,
When along came a semi with a high an’ canvas-covered load.
"If you’re goin’ to Winnemucca, Mack, with me you can ride."
And so I climbed into the cab and then I settled down inside.
He asked me if I’d seen a road with so much dust and sand.
And I said, "Listen, I’ve traveled every road in this here land!"

    I’ve been everywhere, man.
    I’ve been everywhere, man.
    Crossed the desert’s bare, man.
I’ve breathed the mountain air, man.
Of travel I’ve had my share, man.
