Interesting article here in The Times from Gerard Baker in which he highlight the problems facing the Democrats following Miss Hillary’s win in the Pennsylvania primary. It’s enough to keep her in the race, at least for a while but it still seems most unlikely she can get creep past Obama. However Obama’s performance indicates that HE cannot convince enough white working class voters to support him. So it all plays into the hands of John McCain come November. The GOP may yet retain the Presidency despite the massive media storm around Clinton and Obama! As you know, I think the GOP might benefit from a spell in the wilderness but on the other hand, would the USA benefit from Obama in power? I think not though of course that is one decision that the US electorate will make and then live (or die) with. Interesting to read that Hamas are hoping for a Obama win….

  1. You are right that they have a problem. McCain gets to look prsidential while they chip away at each other.

  2. I was going to submit a piece entitled "There’s Got to be a Mourning After" explaining how the Democrats are self-destructing this morning but you’ve covered it well. On to Indiana, North Carolina, Oregon and West Virginia. And be on the lookout for a Gore endorsement in the next two weeks.

Even if Hillary wins now, the Obama wing of the party will feel cheated (even though they would have lost fair and square). He has demonstrated he can’t deliver a knockout punch.

  3. >>However Obama’s performance indicates that HE cannot convince enough white working class voters to support him. <<

    How does it indicate that?

  4. All we have are the speculations of the pundits on how it’s all going to turn out. My guess is that Obama will get the Democratic nomination, but McCain will win the election.

  5. McCain gets to look prsidential while they chip away at each other.

all because the media gives him a free pass while talking gibberish on almost every subject he opens his mouth on. the guy is a baffoon.

and not even this seems capable of denting the completely unethical approach to government by the GOP

  6. When he left the Republican Primary, Mitt Romney saved the Republican Party from similar damaging in-fighting; if he had stayed in the race, it would have been a soap-operatic scenario of economic conservatives versus social conservatives, with McCain, the RINO (except for foreign policy) looking on.

  7. McCain a RINO. LOL

A McCain presidency is little more the a third term for the incumbents.

  8. Romney saw he had no chance of winning as the Republican primary electorate rejected him. If he had kept it close he’d be in it still, but the votes were never there for him.

McCain hasn’t gotten a free pass that I’ve seen. But he has gotten a very lucky run based in great part on the failures of his opponents.

  9. Romney – the prince over the water for Rightworld. LOL!

You guys will have to settle for a "RINO" presidency, albeit one who will leave your adored (by rightists) but visibly failing health system free to continue failing a growing number of US citizens.

  10. McCain hasn’t gotten a free pass that I’ve seen.

    its working then obviously.

  11. In the same way the moon landings must have been fake since I wasn’t there. Enjoy your conspiracy theories (P.S. the CIA monitors ATW so be careful, please be careful).

  12. The GOP may not be in the wilderness if McCain wins but the Conservatives will be. The only difference between McCain and Obama is McCain will continue to fight.

    not according to these guys.
