A few days back, US President Trump had the temerity to describe a London hospital as a ‘war zone’ because of knife crime.

Speaking at a pro-gun rally, the US president claimed that knife crime in London is so bad that one unnamed hospital in the capital is ‘like a war zone for horrible stabbing wounds’ with ‘blood all over the floors’.

Naturally he was damned for saying this. There was outrage that such an atrocious comment could be made.

I can only wonder at his source? Oh, hang on…

Dr. Mark Griffiths, the lead surgeon at Barts Health NHS Trust in East London, said that knife and gun wounds had moved from a “niche” part of his job to a daily chunk of his workload, and a growing number of victims were “children”.“Some of my military colleagues have described their practice here as similar to being at [Camp] Bastion,” Dr Griffiths told the Today programme on BBC Radio 4.

Whoops. And just in case anyone doubted the accuracy of Trump’s comments. here’s some more details.

Of course at LEAST the Brits can take quite satisfaction from the fact that, yes, although knife crime is soaring. thank goodness we have BANNED guns.

Oh…hang on…

London, regretfully, is indeed morphing into a third world sh*thole.

In London, they SHOOT 13 year olds and the political class bleat that Trump is the problem.

  1. No problem, David. Make no mistakes, us Trumpmeister’s supporters know Trump and we know how he thinks. We can decipher Trumpisms where others like the liberal media and Liberals are left dumbfounded, angry and rolling their eyes like fleeced shell game losers. We and our support are all that matters. The Democrats and Trump haters will never be able to figure it out.

  2. Even the doctor who was quoted by Trump invited him to London to see that things are not really as bad as Mr. Trump would have one believe. Kindly check murder rates in each nation and get back to us.

  3. Trump is a bad ally of the UK, constantly criticizing Britain as he does.

No US president has acted liked this, ever.

Nor has any British PM every been constantly critical of the US in this way.

Trump apologists will say that this is straight talking, when in fact it is an undisciplined short attention span mouthing off.

  4. yeah he sent Churchill’s bust back no wait that was the other guy…..

Trump has surprisingly turned out to be absolutely fantastic in the foreign policy arena. Name one thing he has done wrong.

He has crushed isis as a viable organization in his first 13th months, has solidified a military alliance in the ME between Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Israel resupplying all three with the necessary military hardware, he got members of NATO who have not paid their share in decades to antiup, by this time next year he will have spent 1.25 Trillion on resupplying our own Military, and today at 2:00 he’ll tare up the Iran deal.

Each military move has been controlled and precise points made without overkill.

On the economic front we’re booming and it’s barely begun. We have major corporations retooling and reinvesting, we have the largest gas and oil boom in history finally get under production, and we are renegotiating what 5 trade treaties….

but he must be destroyed because this is who we elected…..

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMVvTl83gWg

  5. He didn’t crush any ISIS.

The US played it’s part, but the Iraqis, the Russians and Iranians did a lot of heavy lifting on that as well. I realize that Fox News doesn’t report this, but its true.

And ISIS began its significant loss of territory under Obama. Look that up too.

  6. yeah…. sure they did.

Obama created ISIS and the scumbag McCain supplied them in Syria.

That’s the best part of all this…. the man truly is Dangerfield yet in the requirements of the job of President he’s doing great and that just gauls the hell out of all of you.

  7. Obama created ISIS

The Fake News commandos strike again!

Yes, and Rafael Cruz killed JFK!

Say hello to Allan for me.

  8. That’s a post I’m debating with myself about.

Senator John Scumbag McCain is about to kick the bucket and he’s still spewing bile as he spits out his last breaths….

Dying with the same lack of class as he lived. At least he’s consistent.

  9. Phantom Obama created a vacuum and ISIS formed in that vacuum.

That is fact and all your whining can’t change it…. spin all you want.

  10. I didn’t say Russia wasn’t fighting them. I said Trump destroyed them in 13 mths. The Russians and everyone else had been fighting them for 6 years with no progress.

Trump changed our engagement policy and wiped them out.

Phantom, on May 8th, 2018 at 3:01 PM Said:
GW Bush started a war of choice that destabilized the region entirely. You forgot about that one.

    No he did not.

The US went to War because a bunch of Fanatics turned planes into weapons. Killing thousands of People including some of your friends, and Congress voted on it, on ALL of it. And Bush’s second Term was the people reaffirming it.

    Facts matter

  11. The Kurds played a major role in defeating ISIS as well. Along with the Russians and Iraqis.

Proper assessment is hard at this stage, as much of the ” news ” is from Fake News sources, including the current regime in the White House.

  12. OK so the grew steadily for 6 years a year and a half after Trump changed our policy for all intensive purposes they’re gone, but the groups who fought them for the first 6years that they grew are the ones who changed things….

    Oh ok.

So you’ll jump through any hoop not to give the US Military any credit… I got it.

  13. I give the US military great credit.

But I also give credit to the Russians, Iraqis and Kurds.

None of these did it alone.

And Iran, a sworn enemy of ISIS, helped as well, so I think that I can speak for all here in thanking Iran for its service on this one conflict.

  14. Trump deserves as much credit for this as he deserves for defeating the North Vietnamese.

  15. Cadet Bone Spur knew more about how to defeat ISIS than the generals did.

    Get with the program.

  16. WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—In what they believe is a legal masterstroke, lawyers for Donald J. Trump are now claiming that he cannot be impeached because he was never actually elected.

In a lengthy memo sent to the special counsel, Robert Mueller, the lawyers pushed back vehemently against any allegation that Trump was legally elected President.

“Because Russian interference made the election of Donald J. Trump wholly illegitimate, any attempt to remove him from an office that he does not legally hold is clearly impossible,” the memo asserted.

The memo claimed that the Constitution contains “no provision for removing a person from office when that person was installed there by a foreign power.”

  17. The memo also states Trump could shoot Comey in the white house and pardon himself for murder.

The president has shitty legal counsel.

  18. Yes

As Scarborough said this morning, there is no way that this or any Supreme Court will sign on to that argument, that any American, even a president, is entirely above the law/legal system, having the ability to commit any crime at will without the possibility of any criminal punishment

Rudy didn’t do Trump any favors there

  19. Finally something Raphael Cruz doesn’t have an opinion on. Worst Texas senator ever.

  20. It would be a breath of fresh air for one of these GOP clowns to just say look, you know the game by now, I’m a partisan hack and Trump can do whatever he wants and I’ll support it.

  21. Ted Cruz has proven himself an abject moral coward, sucking up to Trump, after Trump essentially called Cruz’s father a murderer.

He’s no real Texan, he’s the coward of the county

  22. It’s a Constitutional fact that the only thing you can do to a President is impeach them and remove them from office.

After he has been removed from office THEN he can be prosecuted.

    Those are non-arguable Facts.

  23. Why no….?

    Dead serious.

State your reasoning and I’ll state mine.

or is a real debate something that you just can’t do.

  24. Cobb out; Clinton impeachment lawyer Emmet Flood in on Trump’s legal team.

It’s almost Clintonesque and one wonders why that might be and – oh right.

  25. All the best people…

Spokesman says Defense Dept Office of Inspector General has initiated an investigation into allegations related to former Physician to the President, Rear Admiral Ronny Jackson. Jackson faced allegations of misconduct and mismanagement and withdrew his nomination to be V.A. Secy.

  26. Next time we elect a businessman, let it be one who has been through the indignity of answering to shareholders.

  27. None of us is any expert on the constitution or ( except for mahons ) in the law.

So we can all express our layman’s opinion, but opinion is all it will be

  28. The dickhead in chief just uninvited the Philadelphia Eagles to the White House.

    What a thin skinned tool.

  29. The dickhead in chief just uninvited the Philadelphia Eagles to the White House.

  30. Daphne 1227

    Correct .

This guy never really had the discipline of being answerable to anyone. It shows.

  31. Can’t believe they amended the Constitution when I wasn’t looking…the other spineless Texas senator.

    Cornyn on tariffs:
“I think that is primarily an executive branch function, and I don’t really see Congress passing and getting a presidential signature on something constraining his authority.”<blockquote

  32. These sniveling weasels, all of them, love dictatorial executive power when it’s their guy in there

    BULLSHIT!

First off Mahons only knows his area of expertise. He knows nothing about Criminal or Constitutional Law. He has proven that on multiple occasions.

Second Debate is the presentation of opinion. One opinion vs another even among experts in any field.

Your problem Phantom is you have no balls, and you have no ability to engage in a debate about the positions you hold, or the things you believe. Plane and simple you never have and you never will.

    All you know is arrogance.

Put your reasoning on paper, but you can’t for fear of being embarrassed.

    I pity you.

  34. Cornyn flips, guess Texas business donors finally kicked him hard in the nuts.

Cornyn also complained Monday that U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer has kept lawmakers out of the loop during negotiations. “I’ve told him time and time again you need to consult with Congress more to make sure that whatever you agree to can pass,” Cornyn said. “And he’s pretty much ignored that advice.”

    I admit it

Please feel free to pontificate and bellow out your rulings

  37. Cruz wrote about the pardon power.

    Busted.

“The pardon power was not seen as suspension or dispensation.

Traditional understandings of the pardon portray it not as a policy instrument, but as an instrument for achieving justice or ameliorating political dissent on a case-by-case basis.”

As Chief Justice Marshall wrote, “A pardon is an act of grace, proceeding from the power intrusted with the execution of the laws, which exempts the individual, on whom it is bestowed, from the punishment the law inflicts for a crime he has committed.”

“The pardon power carries a scope specifically limited to crimes already committed. The pardon may not apply to acts that have not yet been committed, because it would function as a personal waiver, the impermissible dispensation of the laws.”

“As a result, the pardon power does not encompass an expansive policy of nonenforcement under the guise of prosecutorial discretion.”

Bluster and bull from the inferior man.

Either you can articulate your reasoning for your position or you can’t.

Our society is not run by an expert class it is run by the people for the people. The rules of our society are governed by the people and it is the people who have the final word on what is right and what is wrong.

In our society that is done by men and woman discussing their points of view and the reasoning behind them. We are supposed to not give our support to anyone that can’t do that and we put no prequalifications other than age and citizenship on any of the seats of High office…. look it up.

Yes we can look to experts for their opinions and insights, but it is never they wo decide. It is the people and our representatives whom we elect that make the decisions.

If you as an educated man, a captain of industry claim you are unqualified to present and argue your reasoning behind your beliefs my god you must be truly insecure. You are a major vice president in a world wide company, you pontificate that you know and understand everything on these pages, yet you are saying you are NOT qualified to render an “opinion”.

Well I give you more credit than you give yourself Phantom. You are qualified to give an opinion, you just lack the balls to do so.

Stay in your bubble, the rest of our country is out of your depth.

  39. even Daphne whose clueless has the spine to put her opinion out there….

  40. A President pardoning himself is probably a concept that hadn’t occured to the Founders. Despite vision they no doubt could not forsee such a dishonorable outcome. I don’t think there was an intention that the President be above the law, but they certainly didn’t spell out explicitly that he could not. It is a sad time.

  41. Daphne the Pardon Power can never come into play.

The Justice Dept the FBI, etc etc all are part of the Executive branch of government. No one who works under the President has the Authority to bring charges against him.

If you understood the Constitution or even just ever read it once, you might and I say might because in your case it is questionable you just might read and understand the part that says the ONLY way to remove or bring charges no matter what those charges are against ANY President is through Impeachment….

That’s it period end of story.

If he is impeached and removed from office he can then be charged, but no criminal litigation can be brought against him until he is removed through impeachment.

If a President is then removed from office through Impeachment he can no longer Pardon anyone let alone himself.

  42. Patrick – your unprovoked attacks on people remain ATW’s Achilles heel, which says a lot considering how far the site has fallen. Instead of begging for money again, perhaps you should beg for enlightenment.

  43. A president who pardoned himself would be dishonored for all time.

Another ex president who was pardoned by his successor wouldn’t look too good either, Mr Pence.

  44. Philly Mayor nails Trump.

After President Trump disinvited the Eagles to the White House, Kenney calls him “a fragile egomaniac obsessed with crowd size and afraid of the embarrassment of throwing a party to which no one wants to attend.”

  45. No one expects anything reasonably intelligent from the resident trailer park trash.

And no one cares, the whole site is a complete dumpster from a writer stand point.

  46. // a captain of industry .. You are a major vice president in a world wide company, //

    Congratulations, Phantom.

//Another ex president who was pardoned by his successor wouldn’t look too good either,//

    Nixon – Ford?

  47. There should be no presidential pardon for any reason. It is a corruption of law and justice.

  48. The pardon process was corrupted by Clinton,,with his unforgivable pardon of the fugitive and unrepentant criminal Marc Rich, it is further corrupted now by mob president Trump, who uses pardon in furtherance of scorched earth political gain

Yes, perhaps the pardon power should be removed, though it would take a constitutional amendment to do so, very hard. Maybe it could be done if the change were champioed by a popular sitting president, but even then It’s doubtful

Hey George screw you hows that…….

I’m not begging for money, my dispute with Phantom is between me an Phantom. I’ve tried to engage him in reasonable debate as I have tried to engage you, but neither of you are interested but if you want to fight lets do it…..

    Who has more to lose?

Lets put your massive intellect and expertise in the areas of construction and Labor Law and general civil litigation to use on Constitutional Law.

C’mon Mr Bigshot Lawyer….. you want to go toe to toe with me on Constitutional Law I’ll gladly oblige.

But no you want to insult nothing more, both you and Tom.

I have tried to engage you both civilly each time I do you both get nasty I still continue to engage you both on topics and subject matter but do you NO.

You want accuse me of begging for money……

You really want to have this fight…..?

  50. And George if you think the site has fallen help lift it up with good reasonable debate… or leave.

  51. I have pretty much stayed off the site over the past 6 months so as not to fight with Phantoms insanity and TDS. I have for the most part totally ignored both Mahons and Daphne.

I have offered guest postings to all that Paul and Seimi have taken advantage of to help add variety to the site.

This site is important to me as it is to most of the regulars.

I will now step back into the ring.

  52. A President can’t Pardon himself because he can’t be charged with a crime while he is President.

The Constitution clearly states the only recourse against ANY President is Impeachment.

Before any Criminal Charges can be brought against a sitting President he must first be removed from office.

Since he can NOT be charged with any Criminal Act before Impeachment let alone be convicted of any, he can not Pardon Himself.

That is Constitutional Law if you don’t believe me ask Dershowitz.

I have challenged Phantom to make the case to argue his reasoning I make the same challenge to Mahons and to any of you.

State your beliefs and the reasons that you believe your position is correct.

If you’re so smart and so right surely it should be no problem. It should be no problem to explain why I am wrong, but none of you have the knowledge or ability to do so.

None of you even have the decency to explain your reasoning. You claim I’m an agitator a trouble maker, a Trumpista.

Yet I give my positions along with the reasons behind them, I try to ask you each why you believe what you believe. You all lack the spine to put your reasoning out for debate.

The other three Americans on this site are the Trolls.
