Just sitting here watching some tremendous waves breaking across the beach right in front of my apartment. I love this fierce untamed aspect of nature, and with cutting cold winds driving the surf right up the very edge of the sands, I am glad to be inside – safe, warm and comfortable. I suppose we all take many things for granted that other people can only dream of, but surrounded here by my family (Watching TV whilst I scribble) I can tell you that I thank God for the blessings he has bestowed on me. It’s been an interesting week here on ATW with the registration changes having been rung in and a more pleasant atmosphere created. I have registered many people over the past seven days and have now put a little side bar guide for those who would like to comment here. The punch line is that commenting is a privilege, not an automatic right, and I am very pleased with how things are working out. That’s it from me for today – out for a nice Japanese meal – and talk to y’all tomorrow!

  1. David,

Did you drop the "Recent Comments" block from your sidebar on purpose (or accidentally when you added "The Rules of Engagement")? Please revive it.

BTW, what is the body of water that is beating on the strand?

  2. alan, convergence of the irish sea’s north channel and the atlantic.

    mighty stuff when on form.

    Rather you than me shipmate!

  4. DT,

Thanks. There is a spot just offshore in northern California which is a convergence of two currents and in constant conflict. I haven’t been there in many years, but, if I remember properly, it’s somewhere between San Francisco and Monterey.
