Michigan Democratic State Rep. Cynthia Johnson (you can totally trust these people to run an election) put out this message, last night, for supporters of President Trump. It sounds a touch unAmerican, but that’s what you get with a certain crowd –

  1. Her posts were taken away by the Republicans who control the Michigan house.

Let’s see if the Michigan Democrats squawk about that. They should be expected to endorse any demotions and discipline, if they’re serious.

  2. So let me get this straight then. A Democratic State Representative argues against Rudy Guiliani’s attempt to disenfranchise the people of State of Michigan. In response supporters of Donald Trump send her racist death threats, including threatening to lynch her. She tells those people who threatened to lynch her to be careful and tread lightly. She tells her followers – the “soldiers against racism” – to respond correctly, to do it right, do it in order (lawfully), by hitting those responsible in their pocketbook (financially). And in response, Republicans, using selectively edited footage, accuse her of inciting violence and strip her of her commitee positions.

I think what is abundently clear is that this has nothing to do with violence and everything to do with retribution for making Rudy Guiliani look like a fool.

  3. Yes Seamus. The full, unedited video of what came before those comments paints a completely different picture from that above.

  4. Sure sounds like the most thinly veiled threat of violence in history.

And when Rep. Curly dismisses ” Trumpers ” it won’t be just the bad element among Trump supporters who hear the disrespect from a prominent state Dem official.

Use of the word ” Trumpers ” is fine when talking at the water cooler. It’s not fine when elected officials use terms like that, especially in a state divided narrowly like Michigan is.

  5. you see right there’s the basic difference….. Phantom and I who only agree on points of simple morality both spot the problem with her statement while you think it’s a valid response.

She’s an Elected official death threats are routine, she publicly called for violence. We don’t do that here. Her behavior was beyond the pale in the hearing and the statement above was a threat and a call to violence.

as for selectively edited funny how there is no denial from her…… She’s proud of her statement.

  6. “Sure sounds like the most thinly veiled threat of violence in history.”

Have you seen the full video or the edited one above?

The full video is clear, as Paul has said who has seen the full one. She is not calling for violence. She is explicit in that in the full video (her call for non-violence has been edited out – probably deliberately).

“It’s not fine when elected officials use terms like that, especially in a state divided narrowly like Michigan is.”

So you would be perfectly fine with Democratic legislatures stripping Republicans of their committee position if they talk about Democrats or their supporters with disrespect?

  7. “She’s an Elected official death threats are routine, she publicly called for violence.”

That’s just simply not true. She explicity called for non-violence. To hit those who threatened to lynch her (your mates) in their pocketbook.

  8. As for selectively edited funny how there is no denial from her

Of course it’s selectively edited. Why was the video of the full conversation not posted?

Phantom and I who only agree on points of simple morality both spot the problem with her statement while you think it’s a valid response.

Someone who thinks it okay to bomb orphans isn’t really in a position to lecture on morality.

  9. She’s an Elected official period she can’t call for ANYKIND of action to be taken by anyone in response to threats on her except through the POLICE…… That’s how it works.

What she did is not acceptable for a person in her position. She is an Elected Government Official. What she did was a violation of ethics and likely criminal, Something beyond you to grasp apparently.

  10. “She’s an Elected official period she can’t call for ANYKIND of action to be taken by anyone in response to threats on her except through the POLICE…… That’s how it works.”

Nonsense. Donald Trump has called for people to boycott things before. Don’t recall you ever condemning him for it.

“What she did is not acceptable for a person in her position. She is an Elected Government Official. What she did was a violation of ethics and likely criminal, Something beyond you to grasp apparently.”

What law did she break? What ethical rule did she break?

  11. “lol…. oh ok. Whatever you say….”

So did Donald Trump break the law and act unethically when he called for boycotts? Or do you only reserve your criticism for black Democrats your mates threaten to lynch?

  12. Elected official can’t call for action to be taken by anyone.
What she did is not acceptable for a person in her position
    A violation of ethics

    Etc, etc.

Proud Boys, stand back & stand by
